- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, cream softened butter with sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate vanilla extract.
- Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Add more chocolate chips for an extra decadent treat.
