- 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 pound of potato gnocchi
- 4 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook bacon until crispy; remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt butter and sauté diced onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add broth and bring to a boil.
- Stir in gnocchi and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with crumbled bacon and extra cheese if desired.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute bacon with smoked paprika or vegetarian bacon bits.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped green onions.
