Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Start by seasoning your chicken pieces with a pinch of salt and pepper. This enhances the flavor of your chili chicken.
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic and ginger; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and honey. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Notes
- Marinate the chicken in some of the sauce for 15 minutes before cooking for extra flavor.
- Adjust the amount of chili sauce to control spice level.
- Garnish with fresh herbs for added flavor and presentation.
