Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Start by washing and cutting the chicken into small, uniform pieces. Pat dry with paper towels.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic and grated ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and honey (if using). Stir well and simmer gently.
- Return cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce. Heat for another 2-3 minutes, adjusting seasoning if needed.
Notes
- For a crispier texture, consider air frying the chicken beforehand using an air fryer.
- Use gluten-free soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free diets.
- Customize the sweetness by adjusting honey or maple syrup to taste.
