Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or vegan margarine
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or almond flour for a gluten-free option
- 1/2 cup water or plant-based milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Wash and cut the cauliflower into uniform bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, water, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Preheat your Ninja Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the battered cauliflower in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While cauliflower cooks, mix hot sauce and melted butter in a small bowl to prepare the buffalo sauce.
- Once crispy, toss the cauliflower bites in the buffalo sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped herbs if desired. For extra crunch, bake for an additional 2 minutes.
Notes
- For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the batter.
- Use fresh cauliflower for the best texture; frozen should be thawed and dried thoroughly.
- Adjust hot sauce amount based on spice preference.
- Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese or vegan dip for a complete appetizer.
