- 1 lb chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute.
- Add spices: garam masala, turmeric, cumin, chili powder, and salt; cook for 30 seconds.
- Pour in tomato puree and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream, simmer for another 5 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp for variations.
- Adjust chili powder for desired spiciness.
