- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 cups Tater Tots (fresh or frozen)
- Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom (or chicken) soup with sour cream, half of the shredded cheddar cheese, and a pinch more salt and pepper. Stir until smooth and well blended.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased baking dish, spread the cooked meat evenly on the bottom. Carefully pour the creamy mixture over the meat. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top for extra cheesiness.
- Arrange the Tater Tots evenly over the cheesy mixture, covering the surface. Lightly spray the Tater Tots with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the Tater Tots are golden brown and crispy. Optional: Use a crispy air frying method for extra crunch.
