- 2 medium apples, diced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar and caramel for topping
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in diced apples.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes each side.
- Remove fritter bites from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and drizzle with caramel before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla to the batter.
