  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large loaf of Italian bread or baguette
  • 12 oz (340 g) of your favorite spaghetti noodles
  • 2 cups marinara or tomato-based pasta sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Optional toppings: cooked meatballs, shredded mozzarella, red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the loaf horizontally and hollow out the center, leaving about 1-inch thick walls.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic, cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in parsley, salt, and pepper. Brush garlic butter over the bread boat and top.
  3. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with marinara sauce, Parmesan, and additional parsley.
  4. Fill the hollowed bread with the spaghetti mixture. Add extra cheese on top if desired. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the bread is crispy and cheese is bubbly. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use a sturdy bread like Italian loaf or baguette that can hold the spaghetti without collapsing.
  • Add cooked meatballs or vegetables to the filling for extra flavor.
  • Try different cheeses like mozzarella or provolone for a gooey topping.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
