- 4 large apples, sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, toss sliced apples with half of the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly in a baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and remaining sugar and spices. Add cold butter and cut in with a pastry cutter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh apples with canned apple pie filling for a quicker version.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
