Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced apples with half of the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly in a baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and remaining sugar and spices. Add cold butter and cut in with a pastry cutter until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
