- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced

- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
- Gather all necessary ingredients, peel and slice the potatoes, chop the onion, and mince the garlic for easy assembly.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and dried thyme. Drain excess fat if needed.
- In a greased baking dish, layer sliced potatoes. Top with the cooked ground beef mixture. Repeat layers if needed, finishing with a layer of potatoes.
- Pour beef broth evenly over the layered ingredients. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 40-45 minutes, until potatoes are tender. Remove foil and bake additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
