- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef or chicken
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can tomato sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully peel cabbage leaves, blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground meat, cook until browned, then stir in cooked rice, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of filling on each cabbage leaf, roll it up, and place seam side down in a baking dish.
- Pour tomato sauce over the wraps and cover with foil.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until heated through and sauce is bubbling.
Notes
- Adjust seasonings to your taste.
- Uncooked rice can be substituted with pre-cooked rice for faster prep.
- Serve with extra tomato sauce or a side salad for a complete meal.
