Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet of refrigerated pizza dough or homemade dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup sliced pepperoni or turkey pepperoni for a healthier option
- ½ cup cooked chicken breast, diced (optional for extra protein)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Marinara sauce for dipping
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Let refrigerated pizza dough sit at room temperature for 15 minutes or prepare homemade dough and let it rise.
- Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
- Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about a ½ inch border.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce, then add pepperoni slices and diced cooked chicken evenly across the surface. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
- Carefully roll the dough tightly from the longer side to form a log. Slice into 1-inch pieces using a sharp knife.
- Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Beat the egg and brush it over the rolls for a golden crust. Bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy and bubbly.
Notes
- Let the pizza rolls cool completely before storing to retain crispiness.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freeze the rolls for longer storage and reheat in a toaster oven or air fryer for best results.
