Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Mix the mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
Notes
- Ensure bananas are very ripe for maximum sweetness and flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender and moist.
- You can substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour, but it may result in a denser loaf.
- For gluten-free version, use a certified gluten-free flour blend.
