Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450 g) sirloin steak or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 low-carb or keto-friendly dough or fathead dough (or store-bought keto puff pastry)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or provolone cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 3-5 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions and peppers until soft and caramelized. Combine the beef with the vegetables and stir well.
- Roll out your keto-friendly dough onto a floured surface. Spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly across each dough sheet. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the filling. Carefully roll up each dough sheet, sealing the edges well to prevent filling from escaping.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with a little olive oil for a golden crust. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. For a crispier exterior, bake in the Ninja Air Fryer Pro Crisp & Roast 4-in-1 for even heat and faster results.
Notes
- Use thinly sliced steak for quicker cooking and maximum flavor absorption.
- Ensure the dough seals tightly at the edges to prevent filling from spilling out during baking.
- Experiment with different cheese types like Swiss or mozzarella for varied flavor profiles.
- Enjoy immediately or store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
