Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or line with parchment paper. Mash bananas and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined. Mix in the mashed bananas.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas—they are sweeter and mash easily.
- Avoid overmixing to keep the bread moist and fluffy.
- If top browns too quickly, tent with foil during baking.
- Allow the banana bread to cool completely before slicing for clean slices.
