Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water (for thickening)
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Start by slicing the beef into thin strips against the grain. Wash the broccoli florets thoroughly and set aside. Mince the garlic cloves.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and minced garlic to make the sauce.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of oil, then toss in the broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vibrant green and slightly tender.
- Return the beef to the skillet, pour in the honey garlic sauce, and stir to coat. Cook for another 2 minutes until flavors meld. Add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce and cook until it coats the ingredients well.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
- If preferred, substitute beef with chicken or firm tofu for a vegetarian option.
- Adjust the sauce ingredients to taste, adding more honey for sweetness or soy for saltiness.
