  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water (for thickening)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by slicing the beef into thin strips against the grain. Wash the broccoli florets thoroughly and set aside. Mince the garlic cloves.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and minced garlic to make the sauce.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil, then toss in the broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vibrant green and slightly tender.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, pour in the honey garlic sauce, and stir to coat. Cook for another 2 minutes until flavors meld. Add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce and cook until it coats the ingredients well.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
  • If preferred, substitute beef with chicken or firm tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • Adjust the sauce ingredients to taste, adding more honey for sweetness or soy for saltiness.
