Discover how to prepare a flavorful Honey Garlic Beef & Broccoli Skillet, a quick and nutritious dinner perfect for busy weeknights. This stir-fry combines tender beef with crisp broccoli in a savory honey garlic sauce, offering a delicious balance of sweet and umami flavors in just 20 minutes.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef strips (sirloin or flank steak)
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain. Mix 1 tablespoon soy sauce with cornstarch to create a marinade. Coat beef with this mixture and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Whisk together honey, remaining soy sauce, minced garlic, and sesame oil to prepare the sauce.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining oil in the same skillet. Stir-fry broccoli for 2-3 minutes until crisp-tender, adding water if needed.
  5. Return beef to skillet, pour honey garlic sauce over, and toss to coat. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Notes

  • Ensure beef slices are thin for quick cooking.
  • Adjust honey to preference for sweetness.
  • Garnish with toasted sesame seeds for added flavor.
  • Use fresh broccoli for best texture.
