Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes, sliced into thin rounds
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sliced smoked sausage until browned and slightly crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Arrange a layer of sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Spread a portion of the cooked sausage over the potatoes. Repeat the layering until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of potatoes.
- In a bowl, combine ranch dressing, sour cream, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture evenly over the layered potatoes and sausage.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 35-40 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley or sliced green onions on top before serving.
- You can substitute smoked sausage with turkey or chicken sausage for a leaner option.
- Make sure to use gluten-free ranch dressing if necessary for dietary restrictions.
