- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground meat until browned. Transfer to slow cooker.
- Add chopped onion, minced garlic, crushed tomatoes, broth, and Italian seasoning to the slow cooker. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- During the last 30 minutes, add broken lasagna noodles. Cover and continue cooking.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover until cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, omit meat and add more vegetables like zucchini or spinach.
- Adjust the seasoning to taste for more savory flavor.
