- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer cooked meat to the slow cooker. Add chopped onion, garlic, marinara sauce, broth, broken noodles, Italian seasoning, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Stir to combine and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- About 15 minutes before serving, stir in shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and extra cheese if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute beef with chicken or turkey for a leaner option.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, and add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
