Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large apples (Fuji or Honeycrisp recommended)
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (cinnamon mixed with granulated sugar)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch
- Cooking spray or light non-stick spray
Instructions
- Wash apples thoroughly. Slice into evenly sized fries about 1/4 inch thick. Remove cores if desired.
- Toss apple slices in cinnamon sugar mixture to add sweetness and spice.
- Set up breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Dip each apple fry into flour, then egg, and coat generously with panko breadcrumbs, ensuring an even crispy coating.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange coated apple fries in a single layer in the basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Notes
- Use firm apples to prevent sogginess.
- Slice apples evenly for uniform cooking.
- Adjust cooking time based on slice thickness.
- Sprinkle additional cinnamon sugar after cooking for extra flavor.
