Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (preferably Fuji or Gala), peeled and diced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free alternative
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: powdered sugar or honey for drizzling
Instructions
- Peel and chop the apples into small pieces; toss with cinnamon and a teaspoon of sugar, then set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until smooth.
- Gently fold in the diced apples.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Using a spoon or cookie scoop, form small batter balls and place them in the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper or lightly greased.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- Ensure the batter isn’t too thick for even cooking.
- For added sweetness, sprinkle a little extra sugar on top before air frying.
- Spray fritters lightly with cooking spray for a crisper texture.
