- 2 cups unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar and salt, stirring constantly until the mixture boils.
- Reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the hot toffee mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let sit for 2 minutes to soften.
- Spread melted chocolate evenly over the toffee using a spatula.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate.
- Allow toffee to cool completely at room temperature or in the fridge until set.
- Break into pieces and serve or gift.

- Use a candy thermometer to ensure perfect consistency.
- Can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
- For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of sea salt before cooling.
