Ingredients
Scale
- 2 packs (3 oz each) of lime or red flavored gelatin
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup cold water
- Mini mozzarella balls or peeled grapes (for eyeballs)
- Black food coloring (optional, for more realistic eyeballs)
- Rubber gloves (for shaping)
- Pureed raspberry or blueberry sauce (for blood effect, optional)
Instructions
- Start by boiling 1 cup of water and dissolving the gelatin powder completely. Stir well to avoid lumps. Add the remaining 1 cup of cold water and mix thoroughly. For a more realistic look, add a few drops of black food coloring. Let the mixture cool slightly.
- Use rubber gloves to shape small portions of mozzarella or grapes into eyeball-sized spheres. Insert a mini mozzarella ball or peeled grape into each to resemble an iris.
- Pour the cooled gelatin mixture into silicone molds or cups. Gently press an eyeball into each mold, ensuring they are partially submerged. For a bloodshot effect, drizzle raspberry or blueberry sauce around the eyeballs.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until set.
- Carefully unmold the eyeballs and place on a serving platter. For extra gore, drizzle with red syrup or liquid blood. Serve chilled and enjoy!
Notes
- Use peeled grapes or alternative small fruits if mozzarella is unavailable.
- Adding food coloring enhances the creepy effect, but it’s optional.
- Ensure proper refrigeration to maintain freshness and set the gelatin properly.
- For a more dramatic presentation, serve on skewers or with dry ice for fog effects.
