Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large whole wheat or flour tortillas
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded (use leftover or rotisserie chicken)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional for smoky flavor)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the shredded cooked chicken to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and paprika if using. Stir well and cook for 3-4 minutes to heat the chicken and infuse it with garlic flavor.
- Lay out the tortillas on a flat surface. Divide the chicken mixture evenly among them, spreading it near the center of each. Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the chicken filling.
- Roll each tortilla tightly to enclose the filling. For a crispy finish, toast the wraps in a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side or bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
- Once cooked, garnish the cheesy chicken garlic wraps with freshly chopped parsley or cilantro for added freshness and color.
Notes
- Customize the cheese: Use a blend of cheeses like Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack for extra flavor.
- Make it spicy: Add sliced jalapeños or a dash of chili powder.
- Use whole wheat tortillas for added fiber and health benefits.
