Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to the wet ingredients and form dough.
- Divide dough in half, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out one dough portion on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- Use a cookie cutter to cut out cookies and a smaller cutter to make the centers for the top cookies.
- Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 10-12 minutes until golden edges.
- Allow cookies to cool, then spread Nutella on the bottom cookies and top with cut-out cookies.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
