Instructions
- Start by slicing the croissants into bite-sized pieces. Spread a layer of croissant slices in a greased baking dish, creating a base.
- Sprinkle semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the croissant layer.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the croissants and chocolate layers. Press down gently to ensure absorption. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Serve warm, topped with powdered sugar or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
- For extra richness, add more chocolate or chopped chocolate bars.
- The casserole can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds to enjoy leftovers.
