Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
- Additional cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Peel and grate the potatoes into a large bowl. Squeeze out excess moisture with a clean towel or cheesecloth.
- Mix grated potatoes with shredded cheddar cheese, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small puffs or patties using your hands or a cookie scoop, then place them on parchment paper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray the potato puffs with olive oil or cooking spray.
- Arrange the puffs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.
Notes
- Ensure excess moisture is removed from potatoes for maximum crispiness.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer; cook in batches if necessary.
- Spray with a little oil for a golden, crispy crust.
- Add extra cheese on top during the last few minutes for an extra cheesy flavor.
- Using parchment paper helps prevent sticking and simplifies cleanup.
