- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
- Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add sliced bell peppers and cook until tender, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and Cajun seasoning, cooking for 1 minute.
- Add pasta, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until pasta is cooked and sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute smoked sausage with chicken or shrimp for variety.
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste for spiciness.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
