- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add orzo and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour in broth and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until orzo is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Add chopped broccoli and cook until slightly tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in milk and shredded cheddar cheese until cheese melts and sauce is creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot garnished with extra cheese if desired.
Notes
- Feel free to add cooked chicken or bacon for added protein.
- Use fresh broccoli for best flavor, but frozen works fine.
