Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla, whisking until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients, stirring gently. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For best results, use fully ripened bananas for natural sweetness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- To freeze, wrap slices tightly in plastic wrap and store up to 3 months.
- To bring back freshness, microwave slices for a few seconds or reheat in the oven.
